We attended a phenomenally well organized and attended 300+ exotic car show benefiting Upper Saddle Brook's D.A.R.E. program.
The 'Mazzer' took home the coveted 'Best in Show' award!
Many thanks to Bruno Guarini for organizing this spectacular annual show, and to all who attended to make the day enjoyable and memorable. Good times and for a worthy cause.

Scratch-built 'Mazzer' Roadster
The 'Mazzer' roadster is Wil de Groot's unique, custom built dream car. An 'after hours' labor of love of the automotive variety. Based on a Maserati Quattroporte donor car and loosely designed in the spirit of a Maserati 450s, our blog details the entire process of building a car from scratch. This is NOT a replica and does not pretend to be a Maserati, rather a deliberate union of vintage and modern elements and style.

Nice video of the finished 'Mazzer roadster' is now on our youtube channel or you can watch it here:
Many thanks for the superb video skills of Carlyle Murcielago, owner/creator of Carlyle's Picks channel. If you are seeking a great professional videographer, he is the man.

Finally, the body completed!
We reached another milestone and brought the Mazzer roadster to the Belle Macchine D'Italia at Mt. Airey Lodge in Mt. Pocono over 4th of July weekend. The bodywork is complete, engine installed, exhaust headers on - next I need to get the engine running and begin road testing. Here are some photos, kindly donated by ace photographer Robert Neary:

In paint
At long last we're putting a drive on to finish this project. The 'Mazzer Roadster' is now in final paint, getting ready for the Belle Macchine D'Italia concorso d'eleganza in the Poconos at the end of June. We can't wait! Next time I post this long dreamed of hand built car will be a driving machine. And we'll be working on something else. :P
